Hi friends,
Me and Neha connected over FB.We bonded instantly. Our common passion being fitness.she motivated me to post my journey even though I was reluctant to initially.Neha, you are just a fabulous motivator and we need more people like you !Keep up the good work with “The fit mum”.I look forward to reading your posts everyday.
I stated my journey a year back in March 2016.I was at my heaviest at 70kgs.
It all started when at a party a dear friend remarked how heavy I had gotten.something changed in me that day.I took that comment as a wake up call and decided to change.I suffered knee pain, leg pain and took to 2 months of Physiotherapy to start with. Then in March, I started walking 10000 steps a day.(my hubby bought me a fitness tracker watch…my best buddy till date).I walked to Leslie Samsone on TV.she does 1,2,3 and 5 miles.
After a month,I joined my local gym.It was very hard to start with…lots of sweat and pain!I enrolled in Les Mill classes like body combat, body attack, body pump(weights).I did 2 days of cardio and 3 days of weights.
when my knees got very dodggy, I went swimming.I changed my diet drastically.I cut sugar in all forms and ate smaller meals .I didn’t cut carbs though. My weight loss was a healthy 1.5 kgs a month on an average.I wanted to loose it the healthy way hence no crash dieting etc.
Soon, exercising became an addiction…it was no longer a chore but I looked forward to it.
The weight came off and my confidence sky rocketed as far as my health was concerned and yes! I was getting many compliments too…all that kept me motivated.
I stand at 54kgs today.My BMI is 20.2 from 27!!!
Thyroid problem gone …(I still have dodgy knees though)?I still enjoy the gym and for anyone who asks me, I tell them …..it’s possible!!
Thanks for reading this.
